A British man, whose identity has not been publicly released by police, filmed himself driving a car while using water guns (super soakers) to spray Haredi pedestrians, including men, women, and children, as he laughed hysterically.

This occurred on Monday (August 4, 2025) in Stamford Hill, London, a predominantly ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) Jewish neighborhood. The video, which circulated on social media, shows him targeting groups walking on the sidewalk, with water hitting their faces and clothing.

Reports indicate he shouted phrases like "Free Palestine" or "Allahu Akbar" during the assault, escalating it to an apparent antisemitic hate crime. The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after the footage went viral, classifying it as a hate crime motivated by antisemitism.

Shomrim, the local Jewish community safety patrol, responded quickly, condemning the act as "disgusting" and "unprovoked" and working with authorities to identify the perpetrator. No arrests have been reported, but police urged witnesses to come forward.

This attack fits a pattern of rising antisemitic incidents in the UK, with Stamford Hill seeing multiple similar events in recent months, including verbal abuse, assaults, and vandalism.

Community leaders, like Rabbi Herschel Gluck of Shomrim, expressed outrage, stating it creates fear among residents and highlights the need for better protection.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism called it "appalling" and demanded swift action.The video has sparked widespread condemnation online, with calls for harsher penalties for hate crimes. It also drew comparisons to other recent attacks in the area, such as a man throwing eggs at Haredi Jews or vandalism at synagogues.
