Tesco Under Siege: BDS Bullies Demand Supermarket Reward Worker Who Refused to Handle Israeli Produce
BDS mobs demand Tesco let employees refuse Israeli avocados and tomatoes, turning supermarket tills into battlegrounds against the Jewish state.

In the latest escalation of the anti-Israel boycott war on British high streets, the BDS movement has launched a furious campaign against Tesco after the supermarket suspended a Northern Ireland employee who point-blank refused to handle Israeli goods. The worker at a County Down store was immediately removed from duties, prompting BDS to scream discrimination and fire up a petition, now signed by over 1,700 people, demanding Tesco drop all disciplinary action and let staff refuse to touch “blood-stained items” from the Jewish state.
On Monday, activists from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, People Before Profit, and union reps from Unison and Unite picketed the store, waving signs and accusing Tesco of forcing workers to “earn wages by handling Israeli goods.” The petition parrots classic BDS rhetoric, claiming employees should never be compelled to stock perfectly legal produce grown in Israel proper.
Tesco has stayed silent on the individual case, citing employee privacy, but confirmed it does not source any products from Judea and Samaria and strictly follows all UK government labeling rules. The chain now joins a growing list of retailers targeted by the boycott lobby: in July, coordinated protests hit Sainsbury’s stores nationwide, while the Co-op bowed to activist pressure earlier this year and announced a full ban on Israeli-sourced goods, scrapping even avocados, tomatoes, and carrots grown inside Israel’s pre-1967 borders.
Despite the noise, UK imports of Israeli fresh produce actually dropped this year, from £121 million in the first half of 2024 to £101 million in the same period of 2025, yet BDS keeps hammering supermarkets to purge shelves entirely. The Tesco incident lays bare the movement’s real goal: not just boycotting settlement goods, but intimidating ordinary workers into treating all Israeli products as radioactive, effectively turning check-out staff into political enforcers for the Hamas cheerleading crowd.
