Popular Thai Restaurant Bans All Israelis
An Israeli tourist reported a humiliating incident after being barred from entering a popular restaurant on the Thai island of Koh Phangan due to a sign reading "No Israel[is]."

Itzik, an Israeli tourist vacationing in Koh Phangan, was shocked when his spontaneous attempt to eat at a local restaurant ended in humiliation. He told Channel 12 that upon entering with friends, he was stopped by an employee who pointed to a small sign at the entrance reading: "No Israelis."
When Itzik confronted the owner, he was allegedly given a bizarre explanation: that a group of Israelis had previously visited and only two ordered food. The owner supposedly claimed he has since refused entry to all Israelis.
"It clearly makes no sense. It's simply antisemitism, there's no other word for it", Itzik stated, expressing his shock at encountering such racism in 2025, especially on an island highly frequented by Israeli tourists.
After sharing his story online to warn others, Itzik discovered he was not alone. Another Israeli tourist recounted a similar humiliating incident at the same restaurant. She said the owner angrily "kicked my boyfriend out of the restaurant because he wasn't eating," despite the fact that she had ordered food and there were available seats nearby.
Itzik emphasized that he published the story to ensure that "no other Israeli experiences what I did," adding that such racism must not be ignored or allowed to spread to other businesses.
