The arrest of 21 year old rapper David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, has sparked national outrage and deep concern following the discovery of 14 year old Celeste Reeves Hernandez’s remains. The teen had been reported missing since 2024, and investigators believe she spent significant time at the musician’s residence before her disappearance. The case reached a grim conclusion on September 8, 2025, when her dismembered body was found inside the trunk of the rapper’s seized Tesla Model Y, a discovery that stunned his massive fan base.

Evidence linking the two was plentiful, with numerous photographs circulating online that led many fans to identify Celeste as the rapper’s secret girlfriend long before the tragedy came to light. Her family members provided testimony to local media, stating that Celeste had told them about her relationship with the rapper and that they had witnessed her getting into his Tesla on the day she vanished. The investigation revealed that the pair initially connected on Discord, where the rapper managed an online community for his fans. Celeste, who was only 12 at the time she joined the group in 2022, reportedly began a private relationship with the older artist, a detail that has added a layer of profound moral horror to the case.

The musician’s career was defined by a mix of viral romantic hits and an increasingly dark, violent artistic persona. Songs like "Romantic Homicide" and various music videos featuring scenes of violence against women are now being scrutinized by investigators for potential links to his real life actions. Even his concert tour became a focal point of suspicion, as fans recalled how he used a real coffin decorated with white flowers as a prop on stage during the very period when the victim’s body was likely hidden in his car.

The rapper was taken into custody at his home in Hollywood, located just a short distance from the parking garage where the victim was found. He is currently being held without bond, as prosecutors prepare to move forward with a formal indictment. While his defense attorney has maintained that his client’s innocence will be proven in court, the overwhelming trail of digital evidence and physical testimony has left the public searching for answers to this incomprehensible tragedy.
