Four suspects are facing serious charges after being caught attempting to smuggle drugs into Jordan last month in a joint operation by Israeli security forces.
The Border Unit of the Northern District's Central Unit, working alongside IDF forces from the 417th Brigade and Border Police units from Judea and Samaria, identified several suspects in the fence area along the eastern border. The suspects threw 36 packages containing approximately 20 kilograms of hashish to the Jordanian side.
Border Unit fighters operating at the scene arrested the suspects after they fled from the fence and seized the drug packages on the Jordanian side. The four detainees include two brothers, one of them a minor, from northern Israel, and two residents of southern Israel. Following their interrogation by the Northern District Central Unit, an indictment was filed against them through the Northern District Prosecutor's Office in the Nazareth-Nof HaGalil District Court.
