A Muslim worshipper was murdered in a mosque last Friday in France while he was praying. The killer filmed himself committing the heinous act.

The perpetrator of the attack blessed Allah during the attack that took place in the town of Le Grand-Combe, adding: "I am definitely going to be arrested," after discovering that the place was networked with cameras.

At some point, the assailant approached the worshipper and stabbed him with a knife. The victim was about 23 years old and later died of his wounds.

The umbrella organization of Jewish communities, the CRIF, responded to the incident: "The murder of a worshipper in a mosque is a heinous crime that must stir the hearts of all Frenchmen. The CRIF expresses the solidarity of France's Jewish institutions with the family of the victim who was murdered on Friday morning, with the Muslim community of Le Grand-Combe and with all Muslims in France."

The statement went on to say: "When hatred is directed at a Muslim because he is a Muslim, as the information now published suggests, it is an intolerable attack on the entire republic. CRIF hopes that the investigation will quickly lead to the arrest of the offender. This despicable assassination distorts the republic, at a time when French society is already deeply divided."
