Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated he will not abandon his current coalition partners and said new parties may join his government, but not on the condition of a rotation agreement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has indicated that he will not abandon his current coalition partners. He has also ruled out a rotation agreement as a condition for any new party joining his government, Amit Segal reported.

Netanyahu remains open to bringing additional parties into the coalition.

His remarks follow the election for the 26th Knesset, held on Tuesday, October 27. It was Israel's first national vote since the Hamas attack of October 7, 2023. A governing majority requires 61 of the Knesset's 120 seats.

Exit polls on election night placed Likud as the largest party. An i24 projection gave Likud 27 seats, with Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar second on 20. A Kan News poll conducted by pollster Dudi Hasid put Netanyahu's bloc at 50 seats, the change bloc at 53 and the Arab parties at 17, leaving neither camp with a majority. These figures are projections. Official results are published by the Central Elections Committee.

On election night, Eisenkot used a speech to urge Netanyahu to retire from political life. He warned that sending Israelis back to the polls would be a mistake and pledged to do everything in his power to carry out the will of the people.
