In the midst of the nation’s celebration over the return of Israeli hostages, Hanan Ben Ari released “Hashivenu", a prayerful song inspired by the Book of Lamentations that captures the emotional gravity of homecoming. The track, originally intended as the closing song of his upcoming album set for January, was released early to align with the momentous event.

Ben Ari integrated a rare recording of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, whose voice reflects on freedom as a divine gift, adding a profound layer of historical and spiritual resonance to the song. “Freedom is a gift from heaven… Ask Jews, got a gift from God, freedom,” Carlebach’s voice says, underscoring the themes of hope and renewal.

The lyrics, drawn from Lamentations 5:21, "Restore us to You, O Lord, and we shall be restored; renew our days as of old," take on a renewed meaning as families across Israel welcomed their loved ones back. Ben Ari’s music bridges faith, history, and contemporary national experience, creating a powerful anthem for the moment.

"Hashivenu” is the third single from Ben Ari’s upcoming album, following “Gal Einai” and “Achi”, with each release building anticipation for the full record. Fans and listeners alike have embraced the song as a voice for collective gratitude, reflection, and hope, resonating deeply on the day of the hostages’ return.
