Leave Rom Alone!
"The Most Shocking Event of My Life": Hostage Survivor Rom Braslavski Responds to Attack by Nasrin's Boyfriend
Hostage Survivor Attacked? Rom Braslavski breaks his silence after being assaulted by singer Nasrin Kadri's partner in Tel Aviv. "Stop bashing me online," the survivor pleads. "This is the most shocking event of my life."

Rom Braslavski, a survivor of Hamas captivity, released an emotional video statement on Wednesday addressing a violent altercation that took place outside a Tel Aviv nightclub, in which he alleges he was attacked by the partner of Israeli singer Nasrin Kadri.
Facing a wave of criticism on social media following the incident, Braslavski pleaded for the public to check the facts. "I ask people to stop bashing me online; I am the one who was attacked," he declared. "This is the most shocking event that has happened to me in my life."
Braslavski recounted the chain of events leading up to the alleged assault. According to his version, a friend attempted to get them into a party when they encountered Nasrin Kadri. He claims the singer told him he was welcome to enter.
"We went up to the club together, but when we arrived, she was no longer there, and they wouldn't let us in. I was very hurt," Braslavski explained. It was during this confusion that the physical confrontation with Kadri's partner, who was likely drunk, occurred.
Israelis haven't gone easy on Rom on social media. Although at first there was a massive outcry when Nasrin threatened him on the phone, the tide shifted towards people saying things like, "Just because he was a hostage, doesn't make him special" and "We love Nasrin. She did nothing wrong!" and "He knew he wasn't invited to the party, why did he go?"
In a bizarre twist, David Ziton, who punched him in the face during the fight, is an IDF reservist who served in Gaza during the war to get the hostages freed and was even wounded in the war. During the fight, he also said to Rom, "Just because you were a hostage, doesn't mean you get to say anything you want."
It's also sadly important to note that Rom endured things most people never will, including forced starvation, abuse, beatings and sexual assault by demonic Islamic Jihad captors. He was so distressed by this assault that he was taken to hospital after suffering a massive panic attack.
If this is how Israelis react to a hostage survivor, there really are no more words left to say.
