Iran Executes Alleged Mossad Spy
Iran has executed Hamidreza Sabet Esmailpour, a man accused of facilitating a "major sabotage" plot against missile facilities for Israel's Mossad.

Iranian authorities carried out the execution of Hamidreza Sabet Esmailpour by hanging at dawn today, following his conviction on charges of spying and collaborating with Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, according to state media and the judiciary's Mizan outlet.
Esmailpour was arrested in April or May 2025 and accused of providing sensitive information to Mossad operatives.
The Supreme Court upheld the death sentence, marking this as part of a series of similar executions since mid-2025 amid nationwide protests and heightened Iran-Israel tensions. Human rights groups have criticized Iran's frequent use of capital punishment for such cases, with over 1,000 executions reported in 2025 alone.
