MK Yaakov Asher declared that United Torah Judaism will neither enter nor back any government that does not first pass the Draft Law, the legislation regulating the status of yeshiva students. He stated the condition in remarks to Yishai Cohen.

"There is no other way to interpret this: We will neither join nor support a government that does not first pass the Draft Law," Asher said.

Israelis vote for the 26th Knesset on October 27.

On October 10, MK Yitzhak Pindrus said UTJ is not part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's bloc and had not decided how it would vote on a government headed by Gadi Eisenkot. Pindrus added that every one of the party's lawmakers would cast the same vote.
