U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth held another special briefing from the Pentagon, issuing a statement with updates on the campaign against Iran, known on the American side as Operation "Epic Fury."

Hegseth opened by noting that despite only a short time having passed since the start of the operation, significant results had already been achieved, with Iranian capabilities being degraded further every day. He praised Israel and the IDF, saying that "the combination of the U.S. military and the Israeli military is one of the most lethal forces the world has ever known."

In his statement, Hegseth said: "We are only four days into this operation. There are more forces on the way. So far, the results have been tremendous. Together with the lethal capabilities of the Israeli military, we are generating an unstoppable force. The combination of Israel and the U.S. is among the strongest ever."

"We are achieving massive results in our campaign against our enemy, the extremist religious regime in Tehran and we are only getting started. We have only begun to hunt them, only begun to break their spirit, only begun to degrade their capabilities, and we are only four days in."

"This began yesterday, and it will reach its conclusion in the coming days. The two most powerful air forces in the world are achieving complete air superiority over Iranian skies. That means we will fly, all day and all night, without threat. We will find the missiles, the aircraft, the factories. We will hunt them down one by onem their industrial capabilities, their military and civilian leadership."

"Iran will have no control over this. It will not be a fair fight. We don't want it to be a fair fight. We are here to win. We are hitting them while they are on the floor, and that is exactly how it should work. So far, Operation Epic Fury has dropped twice the amount of munitions used in the opening of the invasion of Iraq, and it is seven times more intense than Israel's 12-day war against Iran."

"We have achieved complete control of the skies. From this point we can begin using unguided bombs, of which we have a nearly unlimited supply. In the beginning we needed advanced missiles and expensive, sophisticated systems, including for air defense. Our stockpiles and defensive posture remain strong and solid. Iran cannot fire the volumes it was firing before."

"The Iranian Air Force, built in 1976, was destroyed in 2026. The Iranian Navy is at the bottom of the sea. Their combat capabilities have been destroyed and neutralized. Last night we destroyed their flagship vessel, named after Soleimani. It appears the President has now killed him twice."
