Russian security agencies conducted extensive military exercises in Leningrad Oblast, preparing for a scenario authorities consider a serious threat: the infiltration of a sabotage team across the border and their subsequent attempt to escape after completing a mission.
The drill involved Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), the country's main domestic security agency, alongside the Russian National Guard and additional security units. The simulated scenario featured a mock enemy force crossing into Russian territory, with responding units tasked with rapidly locating the infiltrators and preventing their advance.
Security personnel worked to seal off areas and block potential escape routes while attempting to track down members of the simulated cell. Footage from the exercise shows armed security forces storming a bus, taking control of the vehicle, and extracting "suspects" one by one in a coordinated operation.
