In the interview, Trump stated, “If Iran doesn’t make a deal quickly, we will bomb them and take their oil. The Iranian negotiators have been granted immunity.”
The president made the remarks as the U.S. continues its high-intensity military campaign against Iran, just hours after confirming the successful rescue of the “seriously wounded” F-15E navigator and pilot in two extraordinary operations deep inside Iranian territory.
Trump emphasized that the U.S. is “locked and loaded” to strike Iran’s electrical plants, oil wells, and critical energy infrastructure, specifically naming sites on Kharg Island, Iran’s primary oil export terminal. He said Iran is “begging” for a deal but is dragging its feet, and he is giving them one final chance at diplomacy before escalating further.
The temporary immunity granted to Iranian negotiators, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, is a short-term diplomatic safeguard designed to allow safe travel and participation in the current round of U.S.-brokered talks. It does not extend to the broader Iranian regime or military leadership.
