Terrorist Raids Chevron-Area Settlement, Shot Dead

A terrorist armed with a knife who infiltrated the Judea and Samaria settlement of Negohot on Saturday morning was shot dead by a local security officer, the IDF said.

A member of the settlement’s volunteer security patrol arrived within minutes and encountered the attacker, who was advancing toward him while brandishing a knife. The civilian guard opened fire, killing the terrorist, according to an initial military investigation.
No other injuries were reported.
The attacker was later identified by Arab sources and Israeli officials as Muhammad al-Suweiti, 25, from the nearby village of Fuqeiqis.
Following the incident, IDF forces conducted searches in the area and ruled out the presence of additional suspects after approximately an hour, issuing an all-clear to residents.
Troops later raided the terrorist’s home in Fuqeiqis, where they located a makeshift firearm and additional equipment that the military said was intended for use in attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers.
Suweiti’s brother was detained at the scene and transferred to the Shin Bet for questioning, according to the IDF.
