Former President Donald Trump will attend an event in Florida on Monday to mark the one-year anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7 terror attack, according to a statement from his campaign on Wednesday.

The event, set to take place at Trump’s Doral golf resort, will bring together Jewish community leaders to “honor the 1,200 lives lost” in the attack and “remember the victims of antisemitic violence that continues to affect communities worldwide,” the campaign statement said.

The Trump campaign has not yet provided additional information, and one invitee mentioned that he was only notified of the event on Tuesday.

The upcoming ceremony is part of a series of recent gatherings addressing Israel and antisemitism that Trump has attended, as his campaign aims to attract Jewish voters in what is expected to be a tightly contested race against Vice President Kamala Harris.

However, Trump has faced backlash from both Democrats and Republicans for his rhetoric toward Jewish voters supporting Democrats and his ambiguous stance on key developments in the Middle East — most recently, Israel’s killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah last Friday.
