Happy Tu BiShvat to everyone already celebrating in Oz.

While Israel is still preparing for Tu B'Shvat (the Jewish New Year for Trees), the Jewish community in Melbourne, Australia has already begun their celebrations due to the time difference. According to footage received by Kikar HaShabbat news outlet, Rabbi Shlomo Cohen Kahan, the Chief Rabbi of Melbourne, was documented leading a traditional Tu B'Shvat gathering with students at the yeshiva hall.
Meanwhile in Israel, many are still focused on the traditional practice of purchasing arak (an anise-flavored spirit) and preparing for their upcoming celebrations of the holiday.
