Israeli commandos from the Givati Reconnaissance Unit achieved a significant tactical victory in the Lebanese stronghold of Bint Jbeil on Tuesday, capturing three Hezbollah terrorists alive. Among those captured was a member of the elite Radwan Force, Hezbollah's highly trained commando unit designed for cross border incursions. The capture followed a fierce, close range firefight where Israeli soldiers utilized precise fire to pin down the terrorist cell. Recognizing they were outmatched and surrounded, the three terrorists threw down their weapons and surrendered, marking a rare instance of elite fighters choosing capture over continued combat.

The Battle and the Aftermath

The engagement began when Givati commandos identified a terrorist cell operating within a fortified structure in Bint Jbeil. The IDF unit moved in quickly, engaging the terrorists at a distance of only a few meters. Following the surrender, the captives were immediately transferred to Unit 504, the IDF's dedicated human intelligence branch, for interrogation. Military sources suggest that the information provided by these captives could be vital for mapping out remaining Hezbollah tunnel networks and weapon caches in the sector.

In a related operation, the IDF carried out a series of strikes in the village of Adshit in southern Lebanon. Intelligence reports indicated that Hezbollah had turned the village into a major launch site, firing approximately 130 rockets from that location since the start of Operation Lion's Roar. The Israeli strikes successfully destroyed weapon warehouses, rocket launchers, and command centers, neutralizing several terrorists who were actively planning attacks against the city of Kiryat Shmona. The IDF emphasized that these operations are essential for removing immediate threats to northern Israeli residents and ensuring that the border region can eventually be stabilized.
