In a significant escalation of the ongoing war, the Israel Defense Forces announced on March 4, 2026, that the Israeli Air Force has completed a widespread and devastating series of air strikes against a massive military compound in East Tehran. This sprawling district, often referred to as the Iranian version of Israel's "Kirya" defense headquarters, serves as the nerve center for the regime's entire security and intelligence apparatus. Under the precise guidance of Military Intelligence and in synchronization with the Operations Directorate, Israeli fighter jets successfully neutralized multiple high value command centers while Iranian regime soldiers were actively operating within them. The IDF confirmed that these targeted headquarters were responsible for managing the current war, orchestrating terror plots across the Middle East, and carrying out the brutal suppression of Iranian civilians.

The Decapitation of the Security Apparatus

The scale of the operation was immense, targeting the very pillars that hold the Iranian regime in power. According to the IDF, the strikes hit the primary headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Intelligence Department, and the Basij paramilitary forces. Furthermore, the command center for the elite Quds Force, the unit responsible for extraterritorial terror operations, was among the buildings leveled in the blitz. By striking these locations simultaneously, Israel has severely disrupted the regime's ability to coordinate its military responses and communicate with its various branches. The IDF spokesperson stated that "the headquarters were attacked while the soldiers of the Iranian terror regime were operating from within them," ensuring that the blow was felt by the personnel responsible for regional instability.

Neutralizing Internal Suppression and Cyber Threats

The air campaign also focused on the mechanisms the regime uses to maintain its domestic grip and project power through technology. The strikes successfully hit the Special Forces headquarters for internal security and the specific command unit dedicated to "assisting and thwarting demonstrations," which is the primary force used to crush Iranian protesters. Additionally, the regime's cyber headquarters were targeted, a move intended to blind the Iranian military’s digital warfare capabilities. This comprehensive approach aims to not only degrade the regime’s external military power but also to weaken its ability to suppress its own people.

Deepening the Impact on the Regime

The IDF emphasized that this operation is part of a continuous effort to "deepen the damage to all mechanisms of the Iranian terror regime in Tehran". By removing these central command hubs from the board, the Israeli Air Force has created a vacuum in the regime's leadership and operational structure. The military noted that the personnel at these sites were the same individuals who promoted terror schemes against the State of Israel and other nations in the region. As the war continues, the destruction of this massive military complex represents a clear message that the heart of the regime's power is no longer safe from Israeli reach.
