Political commentator Amit Segal launched a sharp attack Tuesday against Knesset member Tally Gotliv, following her recent statements about her future in Likud and the possibility she might consider an offer from Otzma Yehudit, a far-right party in Israel's governing coalition. In a video he released, Segal presented three accusations, charging that she is not telling the truth and is acting out of concern for her political future.
"Three things about Tally Gotliv," Segal began.
1. "Gotliv is lying."
According to Segal, Gotliv maintains she did not threaten Prime Minister Netanyahu and has no offers from other parties, but he asserted he possesses evidence contradicting these claims. "The proof that she's lying is on the phone I'm using to film this video for you," he said.
2. "Tally Gotliv only cares about Tally Gotliv."
He referenced the ideological image she has cultivated over the years and her criticism of those who didn't align with the messages she promoted.
According to Segal, the shift in her conduct came following her performance in the primaries: "The moment she was a bit disappointed with the primaries," she already began considering departure. Segal presented this as a contradiction between the ideological messages she conveyed throughout her tenure and the political options she is now exploring.
