Israeli forces from the Golani Brigade successfully evacuated wounded soldiers under fire after a Hezbollah drone attack, during which one fighter shot down an incoming explosive-laden drone that threatened a medevac helicopter, according to circulating video and reports from the scene.
The incident occurred while troops were evacuating casualties following an earlier Hezbollah drone strike that killed IDF soldier Idan Fooks and wounded six others. As forces worked to load the wounded onto an Israeli Air Force helicopter, a second explosive drone was spotted approaching the aircraft.
Video footage shared on social media shows the chaotic moments of the evacuation. In one account, a Golani fighter quickly raised his personal weapon and fired at the drone, knocking it to the ground where it detonated a short distance from the helicopter. No additional casualties or damage to the helicopter were reported from the second drone.
