IDF Spokesperson at Morag Axis: "We Will Continue to Surprise Hamas and Pursue Them"

IDF spokesperson Efi Defrin visited the Morag Axis today (Monday) and emphasized that Israel will continue to surprise Hamas and strike it anywhere in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement to the media, Defrin said: "We are here on the Morag Axis, the corridor between Khan Younis and Rafah areas as you saw earlier. I want to clarify the purpose of the operation from here. The purpose of the operation is to increase pressure on Hamas to bring the hostages home and to collapse Hamas rule, its military wing, both military and governmental."

The IDF spokesperson continued, saying: "The hostages are before our eyes all the time, it's a supreme goal for us. Every soldier here, from the Southern Command commander, through the division commanders, to the last soldier understands this goal. We are operating in northern Gaza Strip and southern Gaza Strip where we are now. We have separated the Khan Younis area from the Rafah area. We are hitting Hamas infrastructure, with many achievements both underground and above ground, and we are striking Hamas's chain of command and will continue to strike frequently and consistently. We talked about the fifth Shejaiya battalion commander - we eliminated him. I don't see candidates lining up to replace him in recent days, and we will continue to eliminate more."

In conclusion, he noted: "Since the beginning of the operation, we maintained ambiguity. This is not just a slogan - ambiguity is part of the method, part of the operational concept. We don't want to share with Hamas what we're doing. Now that we've completed the separation here, we will open up more and more and continue to surprise them. Hamas is under pressure. We will pursue Hamas wherever it is, in northern Gaza, southern Gaza, and outside the Gaza Strip, everywhere. We will not rest until we bring our hostages home, down to the last one, both the living and the deceased."
