In a dramatic operation, Israel’s Shin Bet security service and YAMAM elite police unit arrested two Jewish Israeli citizens overnight between Saturday and Sunday, suspected of carrying out missions for Iranian intelligence in recent days, according to a joint statement by the Israel Police and Shin Bet.

The arrests, conducted in coordination with Lahav 433’s International Crimes Unit, mark the latest in a series of 22 incidents thwarted since the onset of Israel’s ongoing war with Iran. Authorities allege the suspects committed serious security offenses under the direction of Iranian intelligence, aimed at undermining Israel’s national security and endangering its citizens.

A Shin Bet official emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “Amid the current campaign against Iran, with attacks on population centers and strategic sites, collaboration with the Iranian enemy poses a significant threat, as they exploit information provided by these individuals to harm Israel.”

The Israel Police and Shin Bet issued a stern warning to citizens against engaging with foreign entities, particularly during the current conflict with Iran. Details of the investigation and the suspects’ identities remain under a gag order, with security agencies vowing to prosecute those involved to the fullest extent of the law.

The arrests come as tensions escalate, with reports of thousands fleeing Tehran amid bombardments and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu addressing a recent incident in Bat Yam, signaling a robust response to Iranian aggression.
