Police have recommended indicting the administrator of a popular Telegram news channel for alleged military censorship violations during a high-profile IDF operation, officials said Wednesday.
Ari Brickman, who operates the Telegram channel "Uncensored Security News from the Field" (Chadashot Bitachon Mehashetach Lelo Tzenzura), was investigated over the past several months by the Lahav 433 major crimes unit.
According to police, Brickman is suspected of publishing sensitive information that violated military censorship guidelines during Operation Rising Lion.
The police investigation, which has now concluded, focused on whether posts published on the channel during the operation breached official censorship directives designed to protect operational security.
Brickman’s identity as the administrator behind the channel was first revealed in September 2025 by i24news.
Following the completion of its probe, Lahav 433 transferred the case file to the State Attorney's Office with a formal recommendation to file charges. Prosecutors are currently reviewing the evidence to determine whether to proceed with an indictment.
No final decision has been made, and an official indictment has not yet been submitted.
