Yesha Council's Struggle
Yesha Council Initiates a Struggle: "No Budget without Security"
Against the background of the cuts in the security budget for the settlements, the Yesha Council is initiating a struggle. Ne'eman: "This is a badge of shame for the Israeli government that we have to beg for emergency and security budgets while our settlements are threatened."

This morning (Wednesday) the heads of the authorities in Judea and Samaria launched a wide-ranging media campaign under the title "No Abandoning Settlers in the Field, No Budget without Security".
The campaign is launched against the background of the arrival of the 2024 budget discussions at the cabinet meeting on Thursday, including decrees and cuts in the security components as well. This morning, signs were displayed at the entrance to the government building in Jerusalem and across the country calling on the government to include the security components for the Judea and Samaria authorities in the base of the budget.

The head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council and the chairman of the Yesha Council, Shlomo Ne'eman said that "this is a badge of shame for the Israeli government that we have to beg for emergency and security budgets at a time when our communities are threatened. We call on the government ministers to come to their senses and take care of the lives of half a million residents of Judea and Samaria.
"We are not asking for unique funds or coalition budgets for luxuries," said Ne'eman. "It is the basic duty of the government to put an end to the disgraceful reality in which the settlement reaches out every year for its basic needs. We will continue to act by all means until our budget is included in the budget base as it should be for a national enterprise."
