Another one bites the dust, IDF's eliminations continue

The IDF eliminated the commander of Hezbollah's rocket unit

The IDF announced that Ali Taufiq Dweik, who was the commander of the medium-range rocket unit, was eliminated by an airstrike in southern Lebanon. Dweik was appointed to the position last September after his predecessor was also eliminated by the IDF.

The IDF announced that Air Force fighter jets attacked yesterday (Monday) in Joz in southern Lebanon, guided by the Intelligence Directorate and the Northern Command, and eliminated the terrorist Ali Taufiq Dweik, commander of the medium-range rocket unit of the Hezbollah terrorist organization.

Dweik has commanded the medium-range rocket unit since September 2024, after replacing the previous unit commander who was also eliminated. Ali Taufiq Dweik was responsible for more than 300 launches towards the territory of the State of Israel, including the Haifa area and central Israel.

It should be noted that in recent months, the IDF has attacked dozens of terrorist infrastructures of Hezbollah's medium-range rocket array, including launchers aimed at the Israeli home front, weapons storage facilities, and other terrorist infrastructures. These assassinations are part of the IDF's effort to target Hezbollah's rocket array and the terrorist organization's rocket firing capabilities.

The negotiations for an arrangement continue: "The success of the initiative depends on Israel."

Meanwhile, the negotiations for an arrangement in the north continue, and today Amos Hochstein, the U.S. President Joe Biden's envoy to the Middle East, arrived in Beirut and met with the Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. At a press conference he held after the meeting, Hochstein addressed reports of progress in the negotiations and stated that he would continue to work towards reaching an agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

As a reminder, this morning it was reported by the Reuters news agency that Lebanon and the terrorist organization Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire with Israel, subject to several remarks in the agreement. According to him, "Lebanon presented its comments on the paper in a positive atmosphere, and the success of the initiative now depends on Israel."
