In the midst of the operation in Jabalia and after more than a year of war, senior IDF officials conveyed a dramatic message to the political echelon, stating that the continuation of the ground manoeuvre in the Gaza Strip would endanger the lives of the hostages held by Hamas.

According to Yaron Avraham's report on Channel 12 News, senior IDF officials conveyed the message to the political echelon and said: "The operation in Jabalia is complete. The IDF can advance again to any location determined by the political echelon, but it is likely that in any such location, the maneuver will endanger hostages." According to the report, the IDF wants the Prime Minister and ministers to take this message into account when making decisions.

Avraham added and said: "The IDF finds itself at a T-junction and seeks to know where the political echelon wants it to turn, as each such turn has political significance and significance for human lives."

It should be noted that the IDF Spokesperson's Unit refused to comment on the report. And they stated that they do not comment on matters discussed in closed meetings.
