Two events that occurred in high schools in Israel are stirring public uproar regarding the relationship between religion and state in the education system. Footage circulated in the last 24 hours on social media shows blatant interference by educators while students are putting on tefillin.

In the first event, which took place at Dror High School in the heart of Sharon, a teacher is seen approaching a station where students were putting on tefillin and tearing down a sign that read: "I wear tefillin because I am Jewish." The footage sparked numerous angry reactions, indicating a potential infringement on the students' religious freedom.

A similar incident occurred at Yitzhak Navon High School in Yavneh, where the school principal was recorded yelling at a student putting on tefillin in the schoolyard. According to the footage, the principal can be heard telling the student: "Take that off. Pack your things, someone will come to take you."
