Tragic incident
13-year-old in critical condition after playing with parent’s gun
Tragic accident suspected as boys find firearm at home; doctors fight to save teen's life.

Following the shooting incident today (Sunday) in Rishon Lezion, where a 13-year-old boy was seriously injured, the police detained two teenagers who allegedly "played" with a parent’s gun in an open area.
At this stage, a background of nationalistic motives has been ruled out. Police Commissioner Danny Levy is currently conducting an assessment with Central District Commander Superintendent Yair Hatzroni at the scene of the event, where initial findings have been presented to him.
Senior medic in MDA, Shmil Becker, reported: "We saw the boy when he was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, with a penetrating injury to his body. We immediately began resuscitation efforts and urgently evacuated him to the hospital while continuing resuscitation attempts."
