The IDF said it uncovered and destroyed an explosives manufacturing laboratory in Tulkarm in Samaria on Friday, seizing a large quantity of materials it said were intended for use in attacks against Israeli forces and civilians.

According to the military, troops found dozens of improvised explosive devices, including around 200 pipe bombs, along with fire extinguishers and large gas cylinders that had been adapted for use as vehicle-borne explosive charges. Soldiers also located more than 50 kilograms of improvised explosive material at the site.

The IDF said the lab had been operating prior to the launch of its recent counterterrorism operations in Judea and Samaria, suggesting it was part of an ongoing effort to produce weapons for attacks in the area. The facility was destroyed during the operation.

The military described the materials as intended for use in planned terror attacks targeting both soldiers and Israeli civilians.

Separately, the IDF reported on a recent violent incident near the village of Tayasir in Samaria. According to the military, troops were dispatched after Arabs allegedly began throwing rocks at Israeli civilians in the area.

An Israeli man was seriously injured after being struck in the head by a rock. In response, an off-duty IDF soldier at the scene opened fire, killing an Arab suspected of throwing the stone.

Both individuals were evacuated for medical treatment, though the Arab was later pronounced dead. The IDF said the circumstances of the shooting are under review.

Tensions in Judea and Samaria have remained high in recent months, with frequent clashes, arrests, and military operations alongside incidents of violence involving both Arabs and Israelis.
