Sure, Yair, Sure...

Yair Golan: My ‘killing babies’ comment was about Netanyahu’s government, not the IDF

The controversial leader of the Democrats party also called on all the opposition parties to form a unified bloc.

Yair Golan, embattled leader of the Democrats party, tried to soften the blow of his claim this morning (Tuesday) that Israel kills babies "as a hobby" by claiming it referred to the government, not the IDF.

Following a radio interview in which he claimed that Israel kills babies "as a hobby" in the war against Hamas, Democrats leader Yair Golan released a statement claiming he was referring to the government, specifically allegations that more hawkish members want babies to starve to death and that they want to abandon the remaining hostages.

He then said that the IDF is very dear to him and that anyone who shares that view should join him in bringing down the current government. Golan further said that all opposition parties should join together in a united bloc.

Benny Gantz and Avigdor Liberman, two major leaders of opposition parties, condemned Golan's initial remarks, with Gantz openly calling on him to apologize.
