Report: "IDF Moves Forward with Gaza Relocation Plan"

According to reports, it appears that the Israeli Defense Minister has already ordered the IDF to prepare an updated plan for the evacuation of Gazans from the Strip.

Earlier today, Walla News defense correspondent reported that the IDF has begun advancing its plans for the relocation of Gazans. According to IDF sources, Major General Rassan Alian, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), presented an initial plan for the voluntary evacuation of Gaza’s population to Defense Minister Israel Katz. This presentation, requested by Minister Katz, included proposals for further planning and refinement of the initiative.

IDF estimates suggest that if Egypt refuses to open the Rafah Crossing—citing concerns that Palestinians may choose to remain in Egypt—alternative evacuation routes will be considered. These may include establishing corridors via land or sea, enabling Palestinians to reach airports from where they can be transported to designated host countries.

The Israeli security establishment is basing the initiative on legal counsel that asserts international law obligates countries to accept Palestinian refugees, as they are fleeing an active conflict zone. This argument is being utilized to encourage host nations to participate in the relocation plan.
