A male waterbuck calf born several months ago at Safari Ramat Gan immediately drew attention for its distinctive appearance. The calf was born with an unusual heart-shaped marking on its nose, making it one of the most endearing residents at the safari park.
Waterbuck are naturally cautious and wary animals, and the first months of a calf's life present numerous challenges. In the open African savanna habitat at the safari, where zebras, wildebeest, hippopotamuses and other animals live together, young calves must learn to navigate their environment, cope with various stimuli and stay close to their mothers.
