Two Israeli tourists were hospitalized last night (Thursday) after a violent attack at Center Parcs De Kempervennen, a vacation resort in Westerhoven, Netherlands. The assault targeted a family of five, sparked by pro-Palestinian activists circulating their images on social media.
A few days before the attack, pro-Palestinian activists had posted a secretly filmed video on Instagram and other social media platforms. The montage showed Israeli families on vacation, including children, accompanied by hostile messages: “We see them, Zionists are not welcome in the Netherlands,” read one message in English, as reported by JeanMarcMorandini.
The Instagram account of the group “Students for Justice in Palestine – Amsterdam” shared these images, urging its followers to report the presence of Israeli tourists in the country.
The video also accused Israel of crimes in Gaza, stating: “Zionists travel visa-free in the European Union while children die.”
Several internet users responded to the call by sending additional videos of Israelis staying in the Netherlands.
The CIDI (Center for Information and Documentation on Israel in the Netherlands) strongly condemned these posts and filed a complaint for incitement to hatred and violence.
The two injured family members were rushed to a hospital in Eindhoven for treatment. Dutch police detained one suspect, with additional perpetrators believed to be involved, and are investigating the incident. Center Parcs is also probing the related social media activity.
