Steve Witkoff retweets Omani announcement of ceasefire with Houthis

US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff retweeted an announcement by the Omani Foreign Minister regarding an agreement between the United States and the Houthis to cease fighting each other, ensuring freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.

This comes following President Trump's announcement that the Houthis had "capitulated" to the United States and agreed to stop attacking US targets and ships in the Red Sea, in exchange for which the US was ceasing its bombing campaign.

Houthi political leaders have slammed this statement as "lies," saying that they would not cease operations in the Red Sea and against Israel until it stops its "aggression" in Gaza. Whether they will allow all other shipping through the Red Sea remains unclear.
