The Iranian War Contract: Newly Elected Hamas Chief Pledges Destruction of Israel in Exchange for Regional Arms Supply

Newly elected Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya has issued a direct ultimatum to the Arab world demanding heavy weapons to eliminate Israel, while enjoying diplomatic immunity in Qatar following secret election proceedings.

Newly elected Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya

The Hamas terrorist organization has officially designated Khalil al-Hayya as its new chief, cementing a deeply pro-Iranian leadership structure following the liquidation of Yahya Sinwar. Israeli defense officials confirmed that al-Hayya, who previously served as Sinwar's primary deputy, secured victory over veteran candidate Khaled Mashaal with direct backing from Tehran. The political transition marks a critical turning point in Hamas's survival strategy after nearly three years of continuous military pressure.

In newly released footage, al-Hayya laid out his aggressive strategy while appealing directly to foreign regional governments for advanced military hardware. "Provide us with money, weapons, and planes, and we will save you the trouble and eliminate the Zionist entity. We swear to the nation: we will eliminate the occupation on the land of Palestine," al-Hayya declared. The rhetoric underscores his commitment to maintaining an uncompromising war against Israel rather than engaging in diplomatic resolution.

Security evaluations reveal that al-Hayya maintains significantly deeper operational ties with the Iranian regime than his predecessor. Having served three years in an Israeli prison during the 1990s for terrorist activity, he views the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as the fundamental pillar of Hamas's continued existence. Regional intelligence agencies indicate that Iranian operatives actively intervened in the internal voting process to guarantee his appointment over more independent factions.

The new terror chief operates under a unique layer of diplomatic protection despite surviving multiple past assassination attempts. Following a 2025 Israeli air force strike targeting terror leaders in Qatar, the Qatari government demanded and received diplomatic commitments preventing further targeted strikes on its territory. Consequently, al-Hayya and his immediate inner circle currently enjoy complete immunity while directing operations from abroad.

On the ground in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces under Southern Command Major General Yaniv Asor continue targeted counter-terrorism operations. Under Operation Lion's Roar, the Israel Defense Forces have executed approximately 300 airstrikes, eliminating over 250 terrorists, including 60 high-value operatives in the past month alone. Despite these heavy losses, Hamas continues attempting to stall United States demilitarization proposals to buy time and rebuild its underground military infrastructure.

Israeli defense analysts emphasize that al-Hayya's election completely shatters any lingering illusions regarding a moderate post-war governance alternative. By maneuvering around international diplomatic initiatives, Hamas seeks to maintain its governing hold over Gaza while strengthening its military alliance with Tehran. Israeli military leadership under Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir maintains that active combat operations remain the only viable method to neutralize the ongoing terrorist threat.
