Mike Huckabee begins ambassadorship with Sa’ar’s praise: "The best possible choice for Israel"
Newly appointed U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee received strong praise from Minister Gideon Sa’ar as he began his diplomatic mission in Jerusalem, with high-level talks already underway on key regional threats.


Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar held his first working meeting with newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem. The meeting followed shortly after Ambassador Huckabee presented his diplomatic credentials to President Isaac Herzog at the President’s Residence.
The two officials began with a one-on-one conversation, followed by an expanded session with their respective teams. Minister Sa’ar warmly welcomed Ambassador Huckabee to his new role and expressed appreciation for his steadfast support for Israel over the years. He noted that “Israel could not have hoped for a better ambassador,” highlighting Huckabee’s deep friendship with the country and his longstanding commitment to strengthening U.S.-Israel ties.
The meeting focused on a range of strategic issues, with particular emphasis on the Iranian nuclear threat. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination on regional security challenges.
Additionally, Minister Sa’ar and Ambassador Huckabee discussed ways to further deepen the bilateral relationship and promote cooperation across diplomatic, economic, and security domains.
