Captain Noam Ravid and Staff Sergeant Yaly Seror, fell in southern Gaza Strip 

An initial investigation indicates that the soldiers were working to scan a shaft in a tunnel in the Jenina neighborhood of Rafah, when an explosive device exploded; In another incident, a soldier was seriously injured near a tank.

Captain Noam Ravid, 23, of Sha'arei Tikva, and Staff Sergeant Yaly Seror, 20, of Omer, both soldiers in the elite Yahalom Unit of the IDF’s Combat Engineering Corps, were killed in action during combat operations in the southern Gaza Strip, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit confirmed today (Sunday).

Their families have been informed. In the same incident, another soldier from the Yahalom Unit sustained serious injuries and was evacuated for medical treatment. In a separate battle in northern Gaza, a reservist from the 7007th Battalion of the 16th "Jerusalem" Brigade was also severely wounded. Both injured soldiers are receiving care, and their families have been notified.
