Linet, the Israeli who is considered a superstar in Turkey, found herself in a pickle yesterday when her performance at the Yeni Gazino club was canceled due to pro-Palestinian protesters. The singer appealed to the President of the country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his wife, and her fans in Turkey for help while crying.

According to reports in Turkey, the official reason for the cancellation of the performance is 'security reasons. ''I am reaching out to you in a very difficult situation, I am currently preparing backstage," she said while the protests could be heard outside. "There are protesters against me outside, I am very sad, I am in danger. Please someone help me, I am a Turkish citizen - I am a singer who just wants to sing. Dear President, Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, please, help me I beg you. Please let this cruelty end now and I am calling on Turks, everyone who loves me and knows me: until today you have only shouted my songs and I want it to continue please. I beg you do not leave me alone and do not abandon me."

Linet, who grew up in Israel moved to Turkey in 1994, where she became a sensation almost overnight. Unlike the Israeli television, she managed to quickly make her way into Turkish television. However, it seems that something was missing from the immense success she experienced. This lack drove Linet in the late 90s and early 2000s to make the Israel-Turkey connection. In Israel, she appeared, among other things, on Eli Yitzpan's talk show on the legendary Channel 3 and on 'The Next King' on Briza Channel - a young talent competition hosted by Didi Harari, which aimed to find the next prominent voice in Mediterranean music.
