Kann 11 News reporter Roi Kais reports that Amal is increasingly involved in attacks on Israel in recent times, primarily rocket launches, and has suffered at least 13 dead.
The Amal movement, a rival Shiite movement to Hezbollah, is lead by Chairman of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, who was involved among other things in the negotiations in 1986-8 to free Ron Arad, a navigator taken captive by Amal in southern Lebanon, before his trail went cold entirely.
For his part, Berri has called on the international community to stop what he called the "Israeli killing machine."
