Kohelet Forum to slash dozens of workers, end support for other NGOs
Following a widespread opposition campaign due to their support for judicial reform and the end of support from billionaire Arthur Dantchik - the Kohelet Forum is laying off dozens of employees.
Following the widespread public protest against it, including acts of blockading its office, which even some on the left condemned, as well as its work on the judicial reform and subsequent drop in donations – the Kohelet Forum is letting go of dozens of staff and slashing support for other NGOs, according to Israel Hayom.
The reduction in the Forum’s activity, which received the national spotlight last year due to its involvement in advancing the judicial reform, comes due to one of its major donors deciding to cut ties: Arthur Dantchik, who also ended support for some other NGOs.
It should be stressed that since the outbreak of the war, most of the managerial level of Kohelet has been serving in the reserves or on the front lines of the hasbarah and national strategy effort.
The Kohelet Forum responded: “due to recent events and the need for budgetary cuts, we were forced to separate from a number of dear and talented workers. We believe we will make it through this difficult period and even come out stronger to continue to contribute to national sovereignty, individual freedom, and the separation of powers in the State of Israel.
