The IDF has confirmed the death of Sergeant Major Muhammad el-Atrash, a 39-year-old tracker from the Bedouin community of Sa'wa, who was killed and abducted by Hamas on October 7 while serving in the Gaza Division's Northern Brigade. This confirmation follows new findings and intelligence information.

As reported by JPost, Sgt. Maj. El-Atrash, a father of 13 and married to two women, had been missing since the massacre on October 7. His family, unaware of his fate for two months, was informed at the beginning of December that he had been kidnapped to the Gaza Strip. It was only recently disclosed that he was an IDF soldier.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum released a statement expressing deep sorrow and support for El-Atrash's family, vowing to stand by them until his remains are returned to Israel.

The announcement coincided with the forum releasing a video showing the moment Hamas terrorists captured hostages Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eliya Cohen, and Or Levy. The footage, taken from Hamas terrorists' cameras, includes the instances of their kidnapping and the time they spent in a mobile shelter.
