Almog Levi is only 3 years old. He should be celebrating this exciting milestone with cake and gifts. But Hamas robbed him of a beautiful life, viciously murdering his mother Eynav and taking his father Or hostage to Gaza, where he is still held captive.
Just last night (Monday), the Levy family along with 2 other families released footage documenting Or Levy's abduction, including the harrowing moment when Or, alongside Hersh Goldberg-Polin and Eliya Cohen, was forcefully taken to Gaza by armed Hamas militants. The footage, filmed by the terrorists, shows them brandishing AK-47s and shouting "Allahu akbar" as they transport the captives in a pickup truck towards Gaza.
As reported by the Times of Israel, Michael Levy, Or's brother, disclosed to Channel 12 that the video's release was not intended as a direct response to recent comments by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about potential negotiations with Hamas. "The timing worked out well, but it wasn't planned that way," Michael stated.
"Now more than ever, it is crucial to remind the government and all involved parties that Or and his companions are still in captivity," Michael Levy emphasized. "Their situation is dire, and time is running out. We urgently need to bring them home."
Michael underscored the complexities surrounding negotiations for Or's release, particularly in light of recent political discussions. Prime Minister Netanyahu hinted at a possible "partial deal" with Hamas, focused on humanitarian exchanges. However, Michael stressed that such agreements typically prioritize hostages categorized as "humanitarian," such as females, elderly, and the sick.
As the Levy family navigates this challenging period, their focus remains steadfast on securing Or's safe return, while taking care of his young son.
