491 days in hell

Hamas are dogs - Here's how we know

We all hoped the hostages would be in better condition upon release. What's clear is Hamas can't pretend away their abuse anymore– and there will hopefully be serious consequences.

In footage that has sparked international outrage, Hamas' staged release of three Israeli hostages Saturday revealed the devastating physical toll of 491 days in Gaza's tunnels. Eli Sharabi, Or Levy, and Ohad Ben-Ami appeared severely emaciated, their gaunt faces and hollow eyes bearing stark evidence of their underground captivity. The men were visibly frail, pale, and struggled to walk during the choreographed propaganda display.

The footage shows Hamas terrorists forcing the dramatically weakened men to participate in a cruel spectacle before their transfer to the Red Cross. Or Levy was dressed in a uniform, while Ohad Ben-Ami and Eli Sharabi wore prisoner uniforms labeled "Al-Qassam Brigades Prisoner," and all three were compelled to deliver statements praising their captors despite their visible physical deterioration.

Medical examinations later confirmed what the images made clear: the men suffered from severe malnutrition and were "denied basic rights and deliberately starved" during their captivity. Their appearance, doctors noted, told the story of nearly 500 days of deprivation in Hamas' tunnel system.
