Israelis Speak Out: 70% Want Hostages Back, Not War with Hamas
UNBELIEVABLE: New Poll shows most Israelis would trade Hamas victory for Hostages
As Israel grapples with the complex intersection of war and diplomacy, a recent survey reveals that the majority of Israelis prioritize the safe return of the October 7 hostages over the defeat of Hamas.

The poll, conducted by Channel 12 News, shows that 70% of Israelis support advancing the next phase of the hostage release agreement, while only 21% oppose it. The remainder of the respondents are uncertain about how to proceed.
This survey comes amid the growing pressure of an ultimatum from U.S. President Donald Trump, who has demanded that Hamas release all hostages by Saturday. While Trump’s proposal to relocate Arabs also has significant backing, with 69% of Israelis supporting it, half of the respondents expressed doubts about its feasibility. This plan is especially popular among right-wing coalition voters, reaching 90% support.
Since the initial stages of the hostage negotiations, five rounds of exchanges have taken place, resulting in the release of 16 hostages out of 33 initially expected to be freed. Tragically, eight of the remaining hostages have already been confirmed dead. Under the current 42-day ceasefire agreement, Hamas is set to release the remaining hostages in stages two and three, alongside 35 bodies of Israeli victims.
This delicate ceasefire agreement could determine the next steps for Israel, with hostages’ families continuing to demand their loved ones' safe return. For over 16 months, families have gathered in Tel Aviv’s Hostage Square, urging for their loved ones’ freedom. However, Israel’s future remains uncertain, with many fearing that the deadline set by President Trump could signal the return of war if Hamas does not comply.
As Israelis continue to hope for the safe return of the hostages, the world watches to see how the situation will unfold.
