New Year, New War

Ultimatum Delivered: US Envoy Warns Lebanon of Massive Israeli Attack Against Hezbollah

US envoy Morgan Ortagus warned the Lebanese government that Israel plans a massive attack on Hezbollah's strongholds in Dahiyeh and the Beqaa Valley if the terrorist group refuses to surrender its precision missiles and drones early next year.

US Envoy Delivers Direct Warning to Beirut

European sources in Beirut, speaking to the Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar today, Thursday, revealed that US envoy Morgan Ortagus warned the Lebanese government that Israel is intent on striking Hezbollah with immense force. The message stipulated that the large-scale military action would commence if the terrorist organization refuses to hand over its arsenal of precision-guided missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at the start of the new year.

According to the report, the anticipated Israeli attacks would concentrate heavily on Hezbollah strongholds. Key targets are expected to include the Dahiyeh neighborhood, the terrorist group's fortified urban stronghold in the southern suburbs of Beirut, as well as locations throughout the Beqaa Valley.

The warning underscores a growing sense of urgency regarding Hezbollah's continued military buildup near Israel's northern border and the international community's frustration with the terrorist group's refusal to disarm.

Parallel Warning Issued to Iraq

This direct warning to Lebanon is not an isolated diplomatic effort. Last week, a parallel, severe message was conveyed to the government of Iraq. US envoy to Lebanon and Syria, Tom Barrack, reportedly cautioned the Iraqi government about an imminent Israeli operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon, according to a report by the Saudi channel Al-Hadath.

Barrack specifically warned Iraq that the impending Israeli operation would continue until Hezbollah is fully disarmed. Furthermore, he explicitly cautioned Iraq against a harsh Israeli retaliation on its own territory if pro-Iranian militias operating there attempt to intervene in the potential war between Israel and Hezbollah.

The delivery of simultaneous and geographically distinct warnings by US envoys highlights the interconnected nature of the Iranian-backed terrorist network in the Middle East and suggests that any Israeli action against Hezbollah could quickly expand into a regional war. The warnings signal that the United States is aware of and is attempting to mitigate the potential for Iranian-aligned forces in Iraq to join the fighting.
