Pakistan Strongly Condemns Iran’s Nuclear Strike on UAE
Islamabad warns of catastrophic regional and global consequences following a drone attack on the Barakah nuclear power station, calling for immediate restraint and diplomacy.

The Pakistan government issued a fierce condemnation following an Iranian drone attack targeting the United Arab Emirates. The strike, which occurred Sunday night, involved multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched toward the UAE, hitting the compound of the Barakah nuclear power plant in the Al Dhafra region.
The condemnation comes at a sensitive geopolitical moment, as Pakistan has concurrently been serving as a diplomatic mediator between Washington and Tehran.
"Pakistan strongly condemns the drone attack on the nuclear power plant in the UAE and stands in solidarity with the government and our brothers, the Emirati people," the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in an official statement. "Any deliberate targeting of nuclear facilities constitutes a grave and blatant violation of international law."
Warnings of Catastrophic Consequences
Pakistani officials emphasized that civilian nuclear infrastructure must remain completely off-limits during geopolitical conflicts.
"Nuclear facilities must not be targeted under any circumstances," the ministry stated. "Such reckless actions aimed at nuclear installations carry disastrous consequences that could be irreversible, endangering human life, the environment, and global and regional stability and security. The immunity of civilian nuclear infrastructure is a well-established international norm that must be upheld without exception."
The statement concluded with an urgent appeal for de-escalation across the Middle East.
"Pakistan calls on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, fulfill their obligations under international law, and refrain from any action that would escalate tensions and have repercussions extending far beyond regional borders," the statement read. "Dialogue and diplomacy, in accordance with the principles and purposes of UN resolutions, are the only way forward toward lasting peace, stability, and regional de-escalation."
