Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video today (Tuesday) claiming that it was thanks to IDF pressure that Edan Alexander was released by Hamas.
In a video he posted today, Netanyahu spoke to one of his aides, saying that it was primarily thanks to the efforts and pressure of IDF soldiers in the Gaza Strip, a "hammer" against their "anvil." Netanyahu said that he doesn't care about the criticism against him, but that he bemoaned the injustice being done to "our soldiers" who risk their lives every day to bring the hostages back.
Netanyahu said that he remains in contact with Trump and his team, including Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff, who helped secure the release of Alexander to his family.
