Thrown to the Wolves: Feldstein's Team Says Netanyahu Knew Everything

In a surpising twist Prime Minister Netanyahu’s spokesperson Omri Dostri claimed earlier this evening that Eli Feldstein was not his spokesperson and that he did not receive Qatari payments while working in the PM's Office.

Feldstein’s attorneys were quick to respond stating "That's a blatant lie – we have evidence proving he acted under the Prime Minister’s orders.”

Dostri, addressed the ongoing “Qatargate” affair on Channel 12’s 'Meet the Press' with Amit Segal and Ben Caspit, stating that: “No one in the Prime Minister’s Office received a single shekel from the Qataris.”

He emphasized that Feldstein, the main suspect in the case, was not Netanyahu’s spokesperson and was not a state employee at the time he allegedly received payments from Qatar.

According to Dostri, “During the period when he was officially employed by the state — this didn’t happen. He worked for a few months in the office of the Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office, but then failed his security clearance and was let go.”

Dostri added, “Even if Feldstein continued briefing journalists afterward, it was his personal initiative, not an official directive.”

However, Feldstein’s lawyers, Adv. Oded Svorai and Sivan Hausman, firmly rejected Dostri’s claims. According to them, “The claim that Feldstein was not engaged in spokesperson duties for the Prime Minister in the six months prior to his arrest is false – and contradicted by mountains of objective evidence.”

They stated that the police are in possession of thousands of text messages proving Feldstein acted under orders from official superiors in the Prime Minister’s Office and carried out public relations tasks for them – including in political and security affairs.

They further argued that Feldstein’s physical presence in the PM’s Office during that time is documented in official digital records. “All of Feldstein’s work on military and diplomatic matters was done under the direction of the PMO and according to authorized officials,” they said. “The spokesperson’s attempt to retroactively and fictitiously distance Feldstein reflects the sheer panic gripping him and those behind him.”
