"she was cold"
Viral Moment: Netanyahu Removes His Jacket to Warm Elderly Woman
During a housing agreement ceremony in southern Israel, Prime Minister Netanyahu drew applause as he offered his own jacket to a woman in the crowd who said she was cold.

In a moment that quickly went viral, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was seen taking off his black suit jacket and placing it gently on the shoulders of an elderly woman who approached him during a public event in Yeruham on Wednesday.
The unexpected gesture took place during the signing ceremony of a major housing development agreement. As the woman stepped forward to thank the prime minister and mentioned that she was cold, Netanyahu responded immediately removing his jacket and wrapping her in it to the cheers of the crowd.
Channel 14 reporter Moti Castel, who filmed the encounter, called it “a deeply human moment.”
“The Negev Will Flourish”
The Prime Minister used the occasion to deliver a broader message about his vision for developing southern Israel, drawing a contrast with the historic vision of David Ben-Gurion.
“We are combining government infrastructure investment with private initiative. This is how we bring life and momentum to the Negev,” Netanyahu said, emphasizing that the region could become a hub of innovation, much like Phoenix or Las Vegas in the U.S.
Commitment to Soldiers and Hostages
Netanyahu also spoke about support for IDF reservists and veterans, highlighting the allocation of new land plots in Yeruham for wounded soldiers and families of fallen troops.
“We are determined to bring back every hostage living or fallen and to ensure that Gaza will never again pose a threat to Israel,” he declared, closing with the now-familiar pledge: “We will achieve absolute victory.”
